1. what hormones do to the skin
Hormones have a major influence on the skin, especially in women. Phases such as the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and menopause bring changes that can cause skin problems.
Acne: During puberty and the menstrual cycle, hormones can increase sebum production, which leads to acne. Regular acne cleansing by medical beauticians, special treatments with medication or possibly with hormones help here.
Melasma: This “pregnancy mask” manifests itself in dark spots on the face. Sunscreen and skin lighteners are the solution here.
Dryness: The oestrogen level drops with the menopause, which can dry out the skin. Moisturizing and, if necessary, hormone therapies are helpful.
